in between the pouring rain

Yes, it is still monsoon season here. I managed to get in a few shots.

Franklin is the first turkey I have ever known. God bless him, he such a darling character. He follows us around and yet he enjoys overseeing his flock, a very happy bird, a real joy to be around.

very vocal with his gobbles

Bourbon Red Turkeys, Cuckoo Marans, Wheaten Marans, Ameraucanas, and Faverolles

The doe girls. I thought I'd be a goat mama by now but no signs of any babies.
Clara, SweetPea, and June
Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats

Mil's large veggie garden on the right, she has a couple more down near hear her house.

Three goat girls.

Early and one of his girls

Do you ever use these fly bags? They sure do the job. The bag advertises NO PESTICIDES.

nasty, full of flies

see the pole on the left? Contractor BIL put up the pole and Electrician nephew now ran electricity from the barn to the pole. We have three security lights in the area - two on the barn and one on the pole. Next thing we need is several loads of gravel and we'll be ready to move the RV up there.

it is pouring the rain, AGAIN, as I write this blog :-(

Goats girls sniffing for leftover chicken feed. A no-no.

The three goats girls up in the fenced pasture.

Mike has been fighting off a stomach bug and Dud wasn't helping.

  1. I love your pictures. I have never seen so many flies though EW! I guess I should get one of those, it really does look like it does the trick!!!

  2. Every time you post, my jealousy meter goes kaflooie. I want a turkey like Franklin, and goats in a row on a hil, and a bag of dead flies just like yours.

    You are so freaking lucky!!!!

And I love you, by the way. Keep the awesomeness coming.

  3. Clara looks like she's about to pop. And that's a mighty big "stomach bug" Mike's got! They look like they've become good friends. Look at all that nice green grass for all your critters to eat. They look like they're all enjoying themselves immensely.

  4. Oh my gosh! My husband and I were just discussing the fly issue the other day! I was saying we must be doing something wrong because there's flies in the coop. And he was like, noooo. It's because we have chickens. lol.

I am going to get one of those! Where did you get yours?

  5. PS: Thank you for your comment on today's post. You were the first to respond and left a comment for you over there.

Also, thank you for the info on the fly traps. There is NO shame in having flies! Do you think they would be safe inside the coop? I am thinking so.
