From SugarCreekStuff, Yeah!

Michelle at SugarCreekStuff is the most talented person in Michigan. Sure glad I can get her bags sent to me in North Carolina. Check out her sewing goodies at ETSY. Here's my new winter bag with the snow lady, chickens and a goat. We get snow here in the Appalachians and Mike and I raise chickens and Nigerian Dwarf Dairy goats. Until now, I was carrying her CHICK bag, and you can't believe the compliments I get, asking if I made the bag (I wish). I say, "no, but I fellow chicken buddy did).

Cool Old Snow Broad, with Chickens, and a Goat - it's me on a bag!

She even sent tissues - one for Mike and one for me.

Michelle is so clever, I'm Joanna! :-)

rear of the bag, big pocket for keys

looking inside, need a bunch of $$$$ to put in it

Will "hang up" my CHICK bag for a while

Christmas Trees, goats, turkeys, and chickens

Goat among the Christmas Trees, photo by Marie at BlueRidgeBlogs
Farm Fresh Christmas Trees from the Boone and Blowing Rock Area of the North Carolina Mountains (Blue Ridge Mountains, part of the Appalachians). Watauga County, also known as the Choose and Cut Capital, is home to some of the most entertaining and scenic Choose and Cut farms across the region. Choose and Cut involves customers visiting a tree farm and roaming across tree-covered hillsides hunting the perfect tree to take home with them. Choose and Cut is the essential holiday family tradition, where young and old alike can enjoy a day on a real farm. Many farms offer hayrides, farm animals, cookies and cocoa and even Christmas Shops to purchase other holiday gifts. Wreaths and roping are availablefor purchase too.

Mike broke the ice in the bowl and June is getting some water.

Isn't that a cute butt?

Franklin! get out of the goat house.

Good girl SweetPea, she chased him off.

Wheaten Marans girls - they lay the chocolate-colored eggs

Dear ole CherryPie, also a Wheaten Marans. When she was younger, I think the rooster jumped on and broke her leg or hip, that rooster left this world. We don't know if she lays eggs or not but seems to be healthy except that she hobbles around on one foot. She's a survivor and amazingly, we'll look around and she is here and there. She got up in that nest box my herself, not to lay an egg, but sleeps in there.

Monday Nov 10, 08

Monday Nov 10. 08
We had a good weekend because we stayed home and worked outside although it was quite chilly especially Sunday. Leaves, leaves and more leaves, I raked up and put in compost piles. Mike was working on the Wheaten Marans and Ameraucana houses making nest boxes and securing them against the winters winds.

I'm new at figuring out this blog layout, maybe I'll get it one day.
