Tuxedo Cake, BJ leg, terriers

I have misplaced my camera. I like to blog at least once a week but you know me, my blogging mostly consists of photo's. I sure hope I can find my pocket-sized camera, been looking all over the place. ********************************************
Last night, the inlaws had their Thanksgiving. There was sooo much good food there, I finally had to quit stuffing myself. Stephanie, Savva's wife, made us a Tuxedo cake, not only is it pretty but very tasty. Mike has been talking about it ever since. I found a recipe online.

What You Need:
1pkg. (2-layer size) devil's food cake mix
1pkg. (3.9 oz.) JELL-O Chocolate Instant Pudding
1 1/2pkg. (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1/2cup butter, softened
1-1/2tsp. vanilla
6cups powdered sugar
1/2 of 8-oz. tub COOL WHIP Whipped Topping (Do not thaw.)
2oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate
HEAT oven to 350°F.

step 1 PREPARE cake batter and bake as directed on package for 2 (9-inch) round cake layers, blending dry pudding mix into batter before pouring into prepared pans. Cool 10 min. Loosen cakes from sides of pans with knife. Invert onto wire racks; gently remove pans. Cool cakes completely.

step 2 MEANWHILE, beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until blended. Gradually beat in sugar.

step 3 CUT each cake layer horizontally in half. Stack on plate, spreading 3/4 cup cream cheese frosting between each layer. Spread remaining frosting onto top and side of cake.

step 4 MICROWAVE COOL WHIP and chocolate in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1-1/2 min., stirring after 1 min.; stir until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended. Cool 5 min. Pour over cake, letting excess drip down side. Store cake in refrigerator.

BarbaraJean had her leg-removed surgery today.  This morning, Mike drove her to our Vet's main office in Abington, VA.  Dr. Britt called a bit ago to say that the surgery was over and BJ was awake but on pain medicine. Don't know when BJ can come home yet, Dr. wants to watch her for a night ot two.

As Mike was leaving with BJ, we put Jack in the dog kennel with the Irish Terriers so he wouldn't chase after BarbaraJean. Mike drives away, a couple of minutes later, Jack had flipped the gate latch, letting himself and the TERRIERS out among the poultry and goats. TERRIERS don't play nice with poultry and goats and I'm already running late for work. In the end, thanksgoodness, I got the terriers penned back up and no harm was done, whew!

I think one-eyed Jack could bust out of Ft. Knox, I really do.

I'm so sorry BJ's injury came to this, but I'm glad you're getting it done. The cake looks awesome!
