a 2009 seed catalog!

I got my first 2009 seed catalog in the mail today. Seed catalogs, with the beautiful photo's inside, give me endless hours of entertainment. My heart just goes aflutter.

That's Blissi, one of our ungroomed Irish Terriers, at the top. We have spay/neutered Bliss and Brawn. They sleep in the bed with us at night. B&B are chewing on some Christmas bones now.

This is July, a Wheaten Marans cockerel, and Peach, a Wheaten Marans hen. (July Johnson and Peach from Lonesome Dove).

Tonight, we're going down to the inlaws for dinner and opening presents, this is for immediate family, I'm gonna bake a corn casserole.
Tomorrow, a huge crowd comes to inlaws and we eat again. Mother-in-law cooks and cooks, and folks also bring dishes.
My human family has died out, I've got a few cousins here and there but that's all. Mike and I dearly appreciate and love our furry and feathered family though. Mike comes from a big, human family.
Mike and I made the dreadful mistake of going to WalMart this morning, never again on Christmas Eve. I think everybody and his brother was there.
Oh, and my breast biopsy was benign, yeah! I thought it would be.
Merry Christmas and keep healthy and stay warm. :-)
Joanna

Good news! I wonder if the seed catalogs I was getting can find me here? I'd love to get a seed catalog round 'bout now.

Mmmmmm seed catalogs make me think of Spring....boy, am I ready!!

Great Christmas news on your biopsy! Hurray!

I know what you mean about your human family...I do have a sister left, in OR, that was smart enough to go to Hawaii for Christmas and a Mom in an Alzheimer care unit....who I won't be able to go see until this snow goes away! But I am rich in friends and animal family, I couldn't ask for more love and caring. Merry Christmas!

That's wonderful news about your biopsy!!

I also love seed catalogs. Haven't received any yet - Johnny's is usually the first in my neck of the woods. Like you, I just love looking at the photos of beautiful vegetables :)

Our human family is small and all on the farm - our christmas is always special, but as we live togehter 24/7 our lives are special everyday. Our animal family is the icing on the cake for me. I couldn't envision a better life.

Wishing you and MIke and all your animal family a very Merry Christmas season.

Your biopsy result must have made the best Christmas present! As for seed catalogs - I live in an apt. and haven't looked at such things in decades. But you brought back memories, so I've ordered one to be sent to Diane - without her knowledge, of course. Have a wonderful 2009! Nancy in Atlanta
