Pottery - "turn over a new leaf daily"

I'm an old 61 yr old,
and I don't know the first thing
about ceramics.
However, I like the phrase
"turn over a new leaf daily."

In June, I started going to a
pottery studio. Most often,
I am there alone but all
the equipment, clays, and glazes
are available. I have a key to let
myself in and I just play.
I've never attempted the
wheel because no one is
there to supervise me,
besides I think I prefer
"hand building."

My most recent pieces are below,
they are still "green";
not yet been fired or glazed.
Writing in mud is
somewhat difficult.

Pottery Class

At Michelle's studio,
she is giving me lessons.

 Here I am working on
a pot for my deck garden.
These are very elementary pieces
but creating sophisticated pieces
takes much experience.

Marvin creates sophisticated pieces.

took my first pottery class today

To be honest, Michelle did most of the work.
We created a dog bowl. I already had a
pottery stamp with BooneDocksWilcox on it.
On this slab,
I drew and cut out
a big spoon.
Now they have to dry.
I see all these photo's
of clean, well-groomed mini schnauzers,
but I got stuck with the one
who likes looking like this.
