trip to the Vet

4 bucklings [Hashbrown, Bing, Snicker, and Doodle] had open castrations.
Rhutroh avoided the knife due to one testical dropped down.

JackBadger and BarbaraJean got vaccinations, wormed, and Scalibor collars. Recommended by our Vet, the LGD's, Jack and BarbaraJean, got Scalibor collars today. Our Vet said that she wasn't going to push the expensive collars until she saw how they worked on her dogs, and she has been pleased with the results. We have guinea's to help control ticks but the dogs have a broader range than the guinea's. http://www.valleyvet.com/ct_detail.html?pgguid=1faf6ccf-97c2-486d-b970-b64f07985c0c&item=26332&ccd=IFP003&utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=free&utm_content=26332

Jr Get-of-Sire

We have a 4-ring show coming up in Shelby NC, one ring is a Nigerian Specialty. We're gonna enter three 2-month old girls in Jr Get-of-Sire which are Tupelo Honey great-granddaughters. http://boonedockswilcox.weebly.com/

dozing

This is my gymnasium. Sometime I'll try to figure out how many miles of trails we have. Over time, they become grown over and rutty.

Hallie & Holstein, wethers, Black-Copper Marans

Has been a few days since I took this photo below, but didn't want to forget to put it on my blog. Hallie hopped in Holstein's arms every night. Actually, Holstein has now moved to a new home with one of my goat buddies, Kori Connor, in Tuxedo, NC. See Holstein here: http://sonnyacrefarm.webs.com/holstein.htm

We have 4 Cuckoo Marans hens,
a guinea hen,
 and a turkey hen
that's broody,
so more babies will be arriving.

Never have had a guinea hen hatch
keets before, so keep your fingers crossed.

I heart Ruthie.

Today, we brought home
5 of our once-owned goats.
4 of 'em are in this photo.
