misc pics

I wish everyone could try this cheese, right up there with  Parmigiano-Reggiano.

We bought these young chickens at the livestock auction last Saturday. Matt Arnett says - "The Buffs are Buff Orpingtons. http://www.mypetchicken.com/catalog/Day-Old-Baby-Chicks/Buff-Orpington-p229.aspx  The Black a Black Australorp."  http://www.mypetchicken.com/chicken-breeds/Australorp-B14.aspx

They're real sweet birds.

MamaBird and her chick on the deck. If you look up close, she's has detailed feathering, very pretty girl.

We had bufforphington chickens and really liked them, nice layers. They started laying out in the high grass, got real broody and got caught before I could find them. Other than that, they were good hens, I still have the rooster how looks after the other hens and warns them of hawks.

We adopted five chickens from a school science class that hatched eggs this past spring. They are a mix, 4 are white but one is buff snd white and appears to be a dwarf. It is still very tiny and chirps like a baby chick. The three hens take turns mothering it. The rooster just ignores it. Do you know any way we can find out what breed it is? It is very healthy, sweet, flys and a fast runner. We are really curoius about it.
