Inside, we had instruction and checked fecals under a microscope. I am pleased to report that SweetPea is as clean as a whistle, other folks got poor parasite reports.

As I told ya before, June and Sundance moved to Tennessee. Yesterday, Cubby and Bubba did not get eaten but went to live at a petting zoo. Today, Corky and Fizz went to live in nearby Valle Crucis. We're down to 17 goats but Mike is looking for a good senior doe to join our herd.

This past weekend, we were in Clinton, SC at a goat show, actually the show was just for Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats. While the tornado sirens continued to sound off, we went ahead with our show. Teena Bagwell and her husband, David, have a beautiful farm, were gracious hosts, and held the show on their property.  We always enjoy having fun with our goat friends.

David was joking with Mike about his white-bib-overalls and said, "hey man, all ya need now is a paint brush and a wine bottle."

Easter Baskets and Video

We have 3 does in milk now. Mike and I are milking 'em twice a day.
In their Easter Baskets, the puppies have some kibble, a fresh egg, and some goats milk.

Look at that beautiful pink udder on SweetPea. In the dairy-goat world, we get very excited about perky udders and plump teats.

Bye June and Sundance, Love you

With heavy hearts, we said goodbye to June and her wether, Sundance, yesterday.

June is pregnant and due on Apr 23, I hope I get photo's of her babies.

At their new, beautiful home, the owners made a nice pen for them.

Bennie, the tom turkey, went with 'em too. They're sons really liked our turkey toms.

Because we sold pregnant Little Tots Estate Reno (June), our Spring kidding is over.

We're gearing up for our first 2011 Goat Show that's in a couple of weeks.

I may do something I've never done before, pertaining to goats.  I needed an alterations person. Through the internet, I found a local resident, she originally is from Ecuador. Americans are not familiar with eating goat, but I know that people from other parts of the world are quite familiar with eating goat. After I showed her what hemming and embroidery work I needed, (for our goat-show attire, I'll show ya when she gets through), we got to talking and I made her a deal - that I would give her two male goats to eat (Cubby and Bubba), if she invited us over for dinner. She was very excited about the idea and said she would talk to her husband and let me know. She's gonna look up my blog and website. She said that she and her husband were just talking about getting some goats.

meet O'Pea and ClaraBelle

On a cold, and windy night, my dear SweetPea had two healthy babies[4/2/11]. A buckling named O'Pea and a doeling named ClaraBelle. The baby daddy is Red Holstein. * A couple of hours before the babies arived, SweetPea and I in the stall just waiting. Like a good Mama, I kept massaging her back. * O'Pea arrived first, I caught him as he came out.

After SweetPea got him cleaned, then she popped out ClaraBelle, I caught her too.

A red grape from the Tuscan region of Italy used to produce exclusive red Brunello wines. * Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats - registered with the ADGA - American Dairy Goat Association. * Bru's birth Mar 31, 2011 at 9:00PM. Bru's father, Cahoot, was born March 31, 2009. Bru's two full brothers, Beaufort and Bordeaux, were born March 31, 2010. Bru was born March 31, 2011. Mike and I were married March 31, 1990. * Everytime a baby goat is born here, I think it's the cutest goat that I've ever seen.
