we went to Amalfi's for lunch today. As usual, we ordered the daily special.

Look at this, doesn't it tantilize your taste buds? and oh yes, was delicious. First they bring fresh bread with a dipping oil, then the soup of the day was Italian Wedding, then the entree'.

she's a very happy dog, but she never smiles for the camera.

If she was to hear a car starting up our driveway, she'd certainly let us all know.

Our other Black Copper Marans roo, Cooper, has feathered legs. Copper does not.

Don't ask if we know how to operate this thing and let me remind you, we don't have a young person in the house to set it up for us. So far, we've figured out that we'll go down to the local cable office and switch out boxes. Any insight from y'all would be helpful.

This is a Blue-Laced-Red Wyandotte rooster. We have Wynonna, a pretty hen, but no roo, Wyatt went missing. Because of our Pyreenes pair, Jack and BarbaraJean, we have very few birds that disappear.  From CraigsList I can purchase this roo, so stay tuned, Wynonna may be getting a new good-looking boyfriend - Wally.

a trip to Four Legs Good Farm

This morning, we took a new adventure to Four Legs Good Farm.
If you're a goat, it doesn't get any better.

The trip was an excuse to see how Tulip's spring 2012 daughter's were doing. I always like to sell in pairs, hoping they get to be companions for life. Lee Ann reports that you don't see one without the other.

They're gorgeous, but I don't pretend to be objective, I've got the Grandmother mentality.

I love the Four Legs Good Farm setup and all the future plans.

Didn't take any photo's, but we took 16 goats to the Vet's office this morning. They got their CD&T, and BoSe injections. Also, BarbaraJean had staples removed.

Tetanus toxoid – provides long term protection against tetanus (deadly if untreated) which is caused when a wound becomes infected with tetanus bacteria (these bacteria live in all soil).

Enterotoxemia vaccination – enterotoxemia is a condition where bacteria normally present in the goat intestinal tract grow uncontrollably. It occurs when movement of food through the intestines slows because of overeating of grain, spring pasture, milk, or milk replacer. It often occurs in spring after goats bloat from eating too much new spring growth, and is commonly referred to as “overeating” disease (also deadly if untreated).

BoSe – this is a selenium and vitamin E booster commonly given to goats residing in selenium deficient areas. It is necessary to maintain muscle tone in adults, and prevent “white muscle disease” in kids.
