Fresh, baked bread doesn't last long around Mike and I, in fact this loaf came out of the oven last night and it only survived only a few hours, we ate some before we went to the gym, and polished it off after we got home from the gym.
I saw that the Brioche recipe called for eggs so of course I wanted to try it. If any of my girls (Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats) were in milk right now, I'd have used their goats milk but had to use store-bought cows milk instead.
The only thing I would change is that I would use salted butter rather than unsalted. And if I ever retire from my full-time job, I'll be making my own goat butter. Yeah!

Oooo! Yummy! I can almost smell that waaaay up here in the North! mmmmmm!
Oh yes,the first thought I had when I saw the picture was to breathe in deeply so I could smell that wonderful looking loaf!
OH, That is just plain MEAN!!!
My house is too cold for bread to rise in, so making fresh is not even an option! :-(
Man, that looks good!
I've missed your blog! Was on my big road-trip adventure, driving to Savannah to see my grandson, then through SC to NC and PA to see 2 sisters. I've got a lot to catch up on. Can't believe you had the heart to let Clara go - her mini-me is a perfect doll.
Nancy, home again in Iowa
I looooooove brioche, and yours looks amazing! Can't imagine how good it is with those fresh eggs, too. I'm glad you took a picture before you lit into it. :)
Wow...I can almost smell it here in Missouri too! Beautiful. Nancy--a bread machine can mix/rise the dough for you, so it doesn't matter how cold the house is (and you can usually find used ones at thrift stores in excellent condition). I have started baking it in the oven though to get more of a bread shape.

You had me drooling on my keyboard! The bread looks de-lish!
Goat butter? I never knew! Okay, now you've got to spill all your other little secrets...

Those look delicious! I haven't made yeast rolls in a while. I'll have to try the Brioche recipe.
I want to try goat cheese also. I don't have a single goat with milk right now but that should change in a month or so.
Have a great day.
Pam
