On this beautiful Fall afternoon, we made two trips to David Hagamans, totaling 60 bales of 2nd-cutting hay at $3.50 per, which we now have stored in the hayloft. In preparation for winter, Mike says we need 60 more bales.

I found a solid back Woolly Worm, if you believe the folklore, we'll have a b-a-a-a-d winter. If you ever get a chance to go to the Woolly Worm Festival http://www.woollyworm.com/ it's a real treat.

Where are my birdhouse-gourd vines? All of a sudden they disappeared. We've had a couple of hard frosts and the vines were dying back which makes me suspicious of GOATS. They LOVE dried up stuff. Interrogations will soon begin.

I wish we could get a second cutting this year, and I wish for 3.50 a bale again!
I love the fesitvals that NC has. Oh, and the farmers markets too. I wish Maine had a Wooly worm festival. We had loads of the critters scurrying across the road. It feels so good to get the hay in the barn and ready for winter.
Re:Vines...I am sure Sweet Pea is innocent.
