Mon Apr 6, 09

We've been busy moving from house to RV. The HouseBuyer sent a Home Inspector to the house yesterday: I'm assuming that went OK. We are to close on June 1st. Interesting living in a campground, actually haven't spent the night there yet because we don't want to sleep away from the goats and poultry.
Once we get the animals to the barn, then we'll sleep at the campground until we get setup at the barn for the RV. The campground is fairly close to the barn. The owners say the retired Floridian's will start showing up in May.
Around our jobs, Mike has been working at the old barn and I have been organizing at the RV. The RV has tons of storage which is nice. I'm juggling thoughts of gravel, electricity, septic, water, cable. etc. The barn has electricity and water so hoping to tie in there. The weather just won't cooperate though to get much labor done, snow forecasted.
Four loads of gravel is $880, everything costs so much. The gravel road and the barn need much gravel during this mud season. AND we goat owners know, the goats do not want to get their feet wet or dirty.
Can't wait to drive over and see Cahoot, our little red buckling. The breeder is out of state this Easter week and said we could pay a visit upon their return.
Read the lastest issue of Mary Jane's Farm and she said, "The recession is capitalism's way of getting you to plant a garden."

What a job Joanna, moving from your house to RV - glad the RV has lots of storage room and all is going good for you folks.....your right - everything is so darn expensive. We need lots of loam to put around the new house - Yikes!! I really would like grass instead of sand everywhere :)
Looking forward to photos of your new buckling......
more people are definately getting into the gardening mode this year - if nothing else, that's a good thing!

I've been thinking about you and your zoo all day, watching the weather reports. Brrrr! The temperature is starting to drop here, too.

I love Mary Jane's quote--gotta share that with Miss Chef!

Sounds like you and the husband have been busy. I hope you continue to write about your experience (journey) through all of this.

I love the quote!

You really have been busy. I can't believe it's happening so fast.

About the gravel - we have a friend who owns a company that does gravel driveways and such. He goes to our church and is one of our good friends and very trustworthy. I don't know if having his number would help you, but I can share it if you want. Maybe it wouldn't be quite so expensive.

Good luck!!! Maybe WARM spring days will arrive before you're all moved in.

We love to keep up with you and the critters, so we're sharing an award -

I just caught up on your blog...the RV looks so pretty inside!!! What a huge plan, but what a great one...to live totally debt free! I did laugh when you said goats hate their feet wet or muddy....how well I know..when it rains here, you would think that acid is falling on the goats, they race to the goat house and look out with such sadness! I will be looking forward to hearing more about your move!

Sounds like you are really making rapid progress, although it might not seem so right now. The weather is even strange here in Atlanta - snow predicted for today! Since it's only 36 out there now, anything is possible.

I can just see your goats watching the sky. Do they elect one as designated weather chief?
