3 beaten eggs
shredded cheddar cheese
microwaved a package frozen cheesy broccoli
carmalized some onions
poured all the above in a pie crust that I had baked for a few minutes prior
into a 400 degree oven for approx 35 minutes
delicious
Goldie! How did you get out of your pen?
There she was wandering around in the hayloft.
Standard Salmon Faverolle, Goldie. Mike fianally caught her, back in the pen she went.
The bathtub is an eyesore at the moment but we will likely use it or put a container in the place of it for animal drinking water. We fill up our water pails there too.
Nephew had to do some electrical rewiring, but the barn does have its own meter which will also be linked to the RV when it arrives. We hope to hookup a generator to run the barn and RV in case of power outages, we desire to be as self sufficient as possible.

The quiche looks and sounds wonderful!
Goldie is as cute as a bug's ear.
What a great adventure you are on. I have been there several times myself.
When we were building our home we found a very very cheap mobile home. Come to find out the furnace had been removed. No heat what-so-ever.
I cooked on a 2 sided hot plate and a microwave for months. Everyone we knew and were related to showed up sometime or another(to eat). It was so much fun! (now that I look back) No, then too. I wouldn't trade those times for anything.
Before you know it one thing is finished, then another. But...we still aren't finished around here. 15 years later.
Love your views. Beautiful!
Hang in there.
Pam
The photos are so amazing - especially the one of the quiche!
I'm impressed that you made your own pastry. Don't know why, but that always seems daunting to me even though I know it's not hard.
What's your pastry recipe?
Bad, Goldie!!
Looks so peaceful!
Just had to come back to say that the photo of the bathtub up against the barn is prize-worthy.
Enter it in a contest. It's screaming to win.
Your photos are the best. Seriously!
The quiche looks delicious! I love Goldie, so pretty, so cute. You can't get made at a feathered face like that!
That was supposed to be *mad*, my fingers are moving faster on the keyboard than my brain is today!
I like the photo of the path to the in-laws.
I agree with Alix, the old bath tub up against the barn is pretty cool!
The barn location looks nice and private. It's a blank slate for you and Mike to make however you want.
I like egg dishes too and I try to cook with our hens' fresh eggs every day. It's amazing how versatile eggs are!
Your quiche looks marvelous! But I'm in love with Goldie - who would have known that a chicken could be so pretty? Of course you would, as would all my other farmer friends, but I had no clue until reading your blogs.

I am so impressed that you are baking homemade quiche in your RV - that is simply amazing. I am ALL about the microwave in our trailer. lol
And I *love* your bathtub waterer. This fits the whole Reduce/Reuse/Recycle model to a T. What a perfect thing to do with old tubs!! I vote you keep it! :-)
I am going to make a quiche tonight! Thanks for the idea! I love your barn, bathtub waterer, just everything! It looks so inviting and homesteady. Bet you can't wait to move there.
