SweetPea Babies - PeachFuzz

SweetPea had 2 little doelings but Baby#1 didn't live. SweetPea had been pushing for hours and nothing, so we thought we should put on the gloves and feel around. Then, a bubble started coming, which is good, but the bubble broke, two hooves were sticking out, and we started pulling and trying to get SweetPea to push, took a few minutes to get Baby#1 out. She was a beautiful light gold but she never took a breath. We will never know if that was due to our interference, inexperience, or she died a few hours beforehand.

Baby#2, PeachFuzz, came fast once the bubble appeared and she is just fine. Thank you Lord for several reasons but most importantly that SweetPea has a baby to mother.

Last year, when SweetPea had a C-section, she also had two little doelings but the first one that the Vet pulled out was light gold, she took a couple of breaths and then turned blue and died. The second one, black Gabbi, was just fine. When SweetPea woke up from the drugs, she didn't recognize Gabbi as being her daughter, so we had to bottle raise Gabbi.

For a few months, I've been thinking if SweetPea had a little girl it would be cute to name her SweetTea but now I don't know, seems like a mouthful to go from SweetPea to SweetTea, I'd be so tongue tied. PeachFuzz?

So sorry about Sweet Pea's first doe. Doe #2 is precious! I love the photo of Sweet Pea with her eyes closed while snuffling her baby!

I'm so sorry that Sweet Pea lost her first little doe. Doe#2 is just beautiful, a real Golden Girl. There you go, name her after one of the Girls.

Oh, I'm so thankful Sweet Pea is ok! So sad about Goldie's sister...but now we get to see Sweet Pea being a loving mom. Goldie's a lucky little girl.

So glad that Sweet Pea gets to be a mother after carrying those babies for so long. She and baby look very happy. Quite a productive season you've had!

I think the Goddess of Goats thought SweetPea would do best with one child to love and raise, since she was too young to understand it all last year. Your babies are all so gorgeous - such beautiful colors.

How sad :( I'm glad that SweetPea has one baby to keep her happy though, and she is a beauty!

Wonderful that you were there to assist or she may have lost both.

Sorry to hear about Baby #1, so sad, made me cry. I would be no good for things like that....glad that mom and Baby # 2 are doing well. The pictures are priceless. She is so cute, and Sweet Pea will be a great mom. Love the other two on the shelves, too funny.

I am so sorry about the first baby. I know that is heartbreaking but your assistance probably didn't have anything to do with it and by helping her you were able to save the second one. It sounds like labor wasn't progressing and the baby died before it could get out.
Lucky to have all those does born. I need a red one in my herd. Too bad you are so far away.
