Monday the 13th

northwestern North Carolina Appalachians

looking up from our house

At 3pm, 10 degrees, strong winds, and snow, Don't know when I'll get out of here (don't care). Boone was shut down today. I like feeling like a retired person. Sitting here in my fuzzy slippers, drinking hot chocolate and watching a Katherine Hepburn movie. The only humans Mike and I have seen for 2 days is each other. I quite enjoy being a hermit.

Bake the sausage links first, then add the mixture, back in the oven for a few minutes, awesome flavor. See recipe from previous post at NoblePig.

watered the plants in the sunroom

Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats

We're gonna need more hay.

The goats have their baking soda and minerals.

It's so beautiful! And yes, that is exactly what I love about retirement!! If I don't want to go out, I don't have to. Of course, you still have the critters to worry over. It's currently 13 deg in SW Iowa, some snow on the ground but none falling at the moment. I don't think we have more than an inch or 2. Flurries likely, but it's all good so far.

Stay warm!!!

While the pictures are beautiful I could not live up North. While it is cold here in N. Florida I know it will warm up soon. Thanks for sharing the pictures of Winter and enjoy your time off.

Beautiful pictures. Snow is so beautiful in pictures...not as much outside my OWN backdoor though. LOL. I have the same little mineral feeder for our goats and they work out really nice!

It sure is beautiful up there, but only if you don't have to go out in it! Feeding the critters must be your daily little adventure, then back into the house to warm up and spoil yourself some more.

Great looking pictures. But, so cold, brrrrrrrrr!!!!! No, thank you, I'll stay were it's warm. If you call 50 degrees warm? Enjoy your days off and stay warm.
