BarbaraJean is here!

*
We picked her up early this morning.

*
She's not peeing on ya this time Mike.

*
Just set BarbaraJean down with JackBadger.

*
Didn't take long before the wrestling began.

We'd have to reel in Jack at times, because he is quite a bit larger than BJ.

*
BarbaraJean has a pink collar.

*
I like butt's, big butt's.

*
Both puppies have their double dew claws. Double dew claws are one of the trademark traits of the Great Pyrenees. These double dew claws are actually extra toes that the Great Pyr uses to help give them stability and better footing when working in rough country, climbing and fighting.

Jack just wants to play, but we have to give him "timeouts" so BJ can rest, eat, and drink. He wants to play rough and she's not mature enough yet. They're both living in the barn, around the goats. They will be very socialized, livestock-guardian dogs for the goats.

Beautiful dogs! Good thing you are getting photos. They don't stay that size long.

Love those pups! And I love the idea of their living in the barn and learning to guard the livestock. Nice!

Lucky dogs indeed!! I kept my first LGD in with the goats her first 8 months...then she decided she liked her daily people time too and found a hole only she could maneuver. While she spent a great deal of time with the goats whenever, I am outside she was always fast on my heels. Seems she is my protector as well. She is definitely cattle smart about staying the distance but if ever one of my cattle come close for pets, she watches and occassionally snaps at them thinking I could be in peril. It's amazing to watch how much then change from puppy antics to guardian dogs. Amazing qualities that are bred into these wonderful dogs. One thing that needs watched for was when you get baby goats sometimes those pups play a little hard. Thankfully I have a few Momma goats who put the pups in place. It works two ways I find!

I would have a hard time not bringing her in the house with me! The pics of the two puppies wrestling are too adorable. It'll be fun watching them grow up and assume their guardian roles. Wonder if BJ will eventually become dominant?

Congratulations! What an exciting day for you and Mike....and JB!

I didn't know they kept their dew claws - we had German Shephards, and I remember the dew claw (single) was always removed. I didn't even know about doubles!
