First Date

Nougat took the girls, Clara and June, out for some bark. He got 'em a romantic spot in the corner.

Nougat tried some moves on the girls but they weren't putting out. I've never seen so much peeing by everybody in all my life. In the end, Nougat was a gentleman, and all enjoyed their time out together. (I got sooo lucky with Nougat, he's got a good pedigree and he's very tame, he'll let me pet and rub on him as long as I'm willing to keep at it. Will stand to let me grab him by the collar. Dud on the other hand, is rowdy, need to work with him).

SweetPea checking out the bark on the tree and Dud poises for me.

I came over to see the weather pixie but got to see the goats instead....lucky me. Don't you just love the Nigerians? Hopefully you will get some beautiful babies this spring. We are also trying to do a little matchmaking here. Since I no longer have a buck I am taking the girls over to my friend's bucks this week. You should check out her blog told through the perspective of the goat Baby Belle. It is http://goatcentral.blogspot.com I think. Let me know if that doesn't work.

Joann, I would like to know more about the stand you are using to trim hooves. Could I get a better look at it and how it works? And is that a chalk strap dud has on? Great pictures and I love the line, "the girls weren't putting out". That's classic.

Ah, goat romance! I hope the bucks remembered to wear their aromatic cologne. Experienced does like Clara and June won't go for a buck who's not wearing cologne! I just love your goats. I can't wait to see the babies next year.

Love the pictures of your goats - just beautiful. I especially love the one with the little gal observing her mom's hoof trimming. Priceless!

Great pictures! Dud sure is a handsome fellow, and isn't Sweet Pea cute looking over his shoulder. If you like your tree you might have to limit their bark eating, my goats don't bother the bark on the walnut trees but we had another kind of tree out here, it was a huge tree and over the course of a couple years they killed it they ate so much bark off of it.

I am glad Nougat behaved himself.
