the RV & the Angel

Time to go get the RV in Danville, VA. We take a tractor to handle the 5th-wheel RV. We stopped by the bank and got a cashiers check.

On the road for 3 1/2hrs, almost to Danville, we stop for lunch at Sagebrush.

picking up the RV in Danville, VA

they gave us a cap

on the way back, the rain and fog made it tough driving

in Deep Gap, you couldn't see your hand in front of your face

trying to back the RV in our yard, the tractor got stuck

worse than it looks

No pictures at this point, was pouring the rain. Through the rain and the fog, God sent a Good Samaritan in a huge farm tractor who saved the day and who would NOT accept any $$$ afterwards. Don't know if my camera would have captured the angel or not, just wonder.

Oh, Joanna, there is your new home! I am so happy for you. Such an exciting, and eventually nervous trip (due to the weather). Thank you to the angel!

How exciting!! What a wonderful adventure you have ahead of you.

I sure hope you use better sense when driving though....

I bet you are excited about driving your new home back. Sounds like the weather sure wasn't cooperating though! How nice someone helped you out of the mud. :)

Joanna,

There is so much I love about that post, I hardly know where to begin...

I love that you have a tractor trailer rig that has Wilcox painted on it.

I love that you economized the words and beefed up the photos.

I love that your husband is such a manly man that he would HAUL an RV with tractor trailer rig in torrential rain.

I love that you were not freaked out and took pictures of the torrential rain.

I love that even brilliant farm people who are used to operating heavy equipment and tractor trailers still get stuck in the mud.

But I do not love that you got stuck. That sucks.

Otherwise, your post was so fun to read, and I am glad an angel found you. There are more of them out there than we know.

My husband was driving to Fort Lauderdale on business last week and passed two old ladies on the side of the road that had a flat and were trying to change it themselves. It took him a while in traffic to turn off the interstate and back around to where they were. Nobody else had stopped, which he found odd. They were OLD LADIES!! He changed their flat and was on his way. He was an angel that day too. We all need an angel now and then.

So, how do you like the RV?

It's rainy and muddy down here, too. The worst of it is coming today. Day 4.
I'm glad you got your RV home. Sounds like you had one our Fencepost Adventures. It never fails, something always happens, no matter what we do.

Joanna, I'm so glad everything worked out! I had to go back thru Diane's posts to the one about their jeep and truck getting stuck, to confirm that I remembered your comment right. Yep - you've already had 2 vehicles towed out of your yard, so now you've had 3!!!

The RV looks awesome and we've already seen the inside, which is truly awesome.
